GRANDVIEW FAN FAVORITE, RYAN SMITH SO CLOSE TO THAT FIRST THUNDER WIN, COULD IT HAPPEN TUESDAY NIGHT, JULY 3?
NAPA AUTO PARTS & PIONEER POLE BUILDINGS PRESENT. . .410 SPRINT & 358 MODIFIED DOUBLEHEADER “ON THE HILL” AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA (June 30, 2018) – “The Kunkletown Kid”, Ryan Smith has came close to winning a Thunder on the Hill event on several occasions.
In fact, at the 2017 Grandview Speedway Speedweek show, Smith reeled in race leader Kyle Larson and took the lead late in the race. Seconds later, he tagged the third turn wall, bringing out the red flag. The crowd roared in support of the outside pass Smith made on Larson and gave the local driver a standing ovation as he walked back to the pits.
NASCAR driver Kyle Larson went on to score the win, his only victory at a Thunder on the Hill event at Grandview. Smith has quickly become a favorite 410 driver for the Grandview crowd and he’ll be cheered on by many to lock down that first coveted Thunder on the Hill victory on Tuesday night.
Smith will take another run at a Thunder win on Tuesday night, July 3 at the Grandview Speedway. This exciting doubleheader event is part of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series and is presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings. Joining the 410 Sprints will be the popular NASCAR 358 Modifieds competing in qualifying events leading up to the $3,000 to win 30 lap feature that is a NASCAR point race. Gates open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM.
