The stars of the SUPER DIRTCar Series are prepared to do battle on the 1/3-mile Grandview Speedway high banks – but don’t start counting that $7,000 winner’s share yet because the drivers from the NJ-PA region are looking for NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series glory, with the 19th Annual Super DIRTCar Series Traffic Jam presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings.

The Grandview Speedway regulars will bolt into their Big-Block steeds providing some of the stiffest competition for DIRTCar’s elite – and looking at the history books proves that this event, more than any event on the DIRTCar schedule can provide some surprise winners.

This fan-favorite event brings the stars of the nationally touring Super DIRTCar Series to the Keystone State, challenging Pennsylvania’s fiercest and fastest competitors in a 60-lap battle offering $7,000 to the winner, $1,000 for tenth, and $500 to take the green flag. This is one of the most attractive purses offered for a 60 lap event on the DIRTCar tour.
Also on the program, the ever-competitive Sportsman in a 25-lap feature, paying $1,200 to the winner. With a relaxed tire rule – allowing any American Racer Track Stamp — this event is open to all area competitors that meet Grandview Speedway Sportsman specifications.

20160622-20160622-IP8A1830The big night of racing will kick off with a Meet & Greet combining legends from another era, present-day icons and future stars! The Low Down and Dirty Radio Show Meet & Greet starts at 5 PM, with two of the most prolific Modified drivers ever.

Kenny Brightbill of Sinking Spring, PA claimed over 400 wins in a variety of divisions at nearly every race track in the region spanning a nearly 50-year racing career. He is a member of the Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame, National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame and the New York State Stock Car Association Hall of Fame.

Gerald Chamberlain, vividly remembered as ‘The Everett Express’, claimed over 600 career wins and is part of the Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame – inducted as part of the inaugural class in 1992.

“The Doctor” Danny Johnson is a 4-time Super DIRTCar Series Big-Block Modified Champion and sits second on the Big-Block Modified All-Time Win List. Johnson, of Rochester, NY, will pilot the Traction Grabber No. 27J Big-Block Modified in the 60-lap Traffic Jam main event – but before that, the future hall of famer will sign autographs and meet with fans.

The Meet and Greet rounds out with two up-and-coming drivers forging their way to Modified greatness. Super DIRTCar Series regular Keith Flach, of Ravena, NY, pilots the Flach Companies/Gould Erectors No. 43 machine. Flach is a regular and feature winner at the Lebanon Valley Speedway. Joining Flach is New Jersey-Pennsylvania region hot shoe, Dominick Buffalino, of Morganville, NJ. Buffalino has claimed victories at both New Jersey race tracks this season, steering the Michael Dow Electric No. 51M.
The Low Down and Dirt Meet and Greet is free of charge and takes place in front of the Grandview Speedway main entrance. Fans are encouraged to bring items for these competitors to autograph, as well as, take pictures and share stories.

The Pre-Race excitement doesn’t stop there.

NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill mainstay fan activities include the Inside/Out Program: where fans have the opportunity to sign-up — free of charge – and watch competitors hot lap from the infield of the Grandview Speedway. This unique view of the racing action puts fans close to dirt track inside the turn 4 guardrail.

Thunder on the Hill Pit Tours give fans a behind-the-scenes look at what teams to do prepare for racing action. Fans can sign-up free of charge and get a guided tour of the pit area, prior to racing action.

General Admission tickets for Thursday, July 14 are $25 for Adults, $10 for Children 6-11 and Free for Children Under 6. Pit Admission is $35, no license is required.
Pit Gates open at 2:30 PM, Driver’s Meeting is at 6:15 PM, Hot Laps at 6:45 PM and Racing Starts at 7:30 PM.
