THUNDER ON THE HILL OPEN TO ALL COMPETITORS WITH FULL QUALIFYING FOR MODIFIEDS, SPORTSMAN & TSRS SPRINTS; RYAN WATT LEADS LONG LIST OF INVADERS INTO SUNDAY’S $5,000 TO WIN TRIPLE THUNDER THRILLER AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series roars into Grandview Speedway this coming Sunday, May 29 for the opening of their 27th season of racing action. Gates open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM.

The highlight of Sunday’s ‘Triple Thunder Thriller’ is a 40-lap Big-Block vs. 358 Small-block Modified challenge, with a whopping $5,000 dedicated to the winner’s share. This event is lucrative to race teams boasting $1,000 for a tenth-place finish and $500 to take the green flag.

This lucrative payout is expected to bring some less-familiar faces to the famed 1/3-mile high banks drivers like Keith Flach, Jimmy Horton, Billy Pauch Jr., Ryan Godown, and Wade Hendrickson have all expressed interest in claiming the $5,000 top prize.

Among them is Boyertown, Pa-native, Ryan Watt. The 36-year-old driver competes regularly on Saturday Nights in the Big-Block division at Bridgeport Speedway – where he won the Big-Block Championship in 2013. But don’t let that ‘big track’ experience fool you, Watt is a force to reckon with at Grandview Speedway.

“We’ve been lucky enough to be fast almost everywhere we go – but racing at Grandview is special because we live so close,” Watt explained. “I raced sportsman at East Windsor Speedway (N.J.) early on in my career. To me, the way you would approach racing there and the way you race at Grandview is very similar.”

Celebrating his 19th season of Modified competition in 2016, Watt holds two career wins in Saturday Night action at Grandview Speedway, while searching for his first Thunder on the Hill Victory.

Watt and company will have their hands full with veterans to Thunder Victory Lane. Drivers like 12-time Thunder Series winner, Jeff Strunk, 8-time Series winner, Duane Howard, and 5-time Series winner, Craig Von Dohren.
Along with the mighty modifieds, the Sportsman are set for action in a 25-lap, $1,300 to win event and the TSRS Sprint Cars are on the agenda.

There is no entry fee but competitors are encouraged to pre-enter by calling 443-513-4456. All drivers are welcome to participate in this event with full qualifying races for all divisions.

The Low Down & Dirty Radio Show pre-race Meet & Greet kicks off at 5 PM and includes: Billy Pauch Jr., Nathan Mohr, and Eddie Strada
