SKYE LEE MICHAEL NAMED MISS THUNDER ON THE HILL FOR 2009

~ The very lovely, seventeen year old Skye Lee Michael has proudly accepted the title of Miss Thunder on the Hill for 2009.?? This blonde hair and blue eyed beauty is certainly no stranger to short track racing as her father is popular 410 sprint car driver Sean Michael and her mother is Gena Hoffman, wife of multi-time modified champion Doug Hoffman.? Skye makes her home in Allentown, PA, a very convenient location for attending all the popular Thunder on the Hill Racing Series events, held at the Grandview Speedway.

Skye has attended races since she was born, traveling all over the country with URC, DIRT, ARCA and the 410 sprints.? In just seventeen years, Skye has visited over sixty different race tracks in more than seventeen states plus crossing the border to races in Canada.??? Skye has seen the best of sprint car and modified racing and is quick to plead the 5th on picking a favorite division.?? "The things I like about racing are- the noise, the excitement in the air and a good close finish", commented Skye.

A senior at Parkland High School, Skye also attends the Lehigh & Technical Institute (LCTI) for Cosmetology.? She is currently employed at Abercrombie Kids in the Lehigh Valley Mall.? On weekends, Skye is always busy and this includes helping her mother and step father with their promotional efforts at the Mahoning Valley Speedway in Lehighton, PA.

After graduating from High School, Skye plants to get her State Board of Cosmetology License and then go to Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) to get a degree in Marketing to further here career in the racing industry.

The 20th season of Thunder on the Hill will be presented by NAPA Auto Parks, Lee Myles Transmissions & Auto Care and our good friends at COMDIAL Telephone Communications.??? in the nineteen year history of Thunder on the Hill, eighty-five events were presented with a purse payout in excess of $2.8 million dollars.?? Six race dates will fill the Thunder Series schedule for 2009.
